How It All Began
You know when you are single you have those married friends who want to set you up with everyone...I figure it's either because they are blissfully happy and want you to be blissfully happy, too OR they are miserable and misery loves company. I was pretty open to being set up because I figured you never know who is going to introduce you to your future spouse.
So I made a list of everything I wanted, needed, had to have in a spouse and sent it out into the universe. In essence, I made a wish.
At a time in my life when I was finally done with toxic relationships (it only took me 4 years of BAD relationships to get there) my friend Breun offered to set me up with a guy she went to middle school with (ok, it was her 7th grade boyfriend).
She described him as being divorced twice and having a part time job in real estate...oh, and did I mention he lived in another state. Hmmm...as I was super into blogging about my relationships I figured if nothing else this would make a hilarious story.
After a horrific lunch date with someone else, I finally met Paul. He knocked on my door, I opened it, and thought "Thank God." Thirty minutes into our date I texted Mary that I had met the man I was going to marry.
We've been together ever since, engaged 11 months after we met, married 6 months after that, and now here we are happy and crazy in love...and some days just crazy.
Oh, and that part time job...turns out he is really in the Air Force and before you go knocking me for having 2 dates in 1 day...well, he was on a date the night before that ended after midnight!
